There are many hiking trails in Southern California and I am fortunate to live very close to a lot of them.
This trailhead is less than a mile from my house, but somehow, I missed it until this last weekend.
A friend of mine recued a dog and asked me to join them on their first hike!
Can I just tell you how sweet this girl is!!!
Look at that! How in the world did anyone lose her! She is very skittish and fearful, but who knows what she has gone thru. Skinny and look at those eyes! Oh my heart!
But now!
She, her name is Serena, has a new found friend and she is going to be loved forever!
This trail leads us up to incredible views!
See the lake in the distance, that is the one I usually walk around.
This is the 101, otherwise known as Ventura Highway! In the sunshine! ![]()
All is well. Serena has a new found home, a new friend and I found a new hiking trail.
Life is good.
Wow, I continue to be awed by the wonderful scenery and trails near where you live. I can hardly wait for spring in the North. I want to to hiking!
Thanks Sheryl, I will be showing lots more, near malibu next summer!
Come visit~
I miss California! It’s like zero degrees out here, so I don’t even want to go to the gym, let alone go outside in the sunshine.
One of the great moments with my old car (a classic Volvo) was driving up and down PCH (aka 101) when she rolled over to 200,000 miles. Ah, the memories.
There was a really cool aerobics place when I lived there, in an old warehouse, it was so cool with long windows, and brick. I know what you mean, its hard to go out in the cold though, it gets really cold there!
