Okay, so blogging with my iPad was not fun, I hope I don’t have to do it often. Tonight, back to basics.
And this is basic!
This is a dish you might just think… EWWWW!
I have been making different variations of this for years. This is the inexpensive, fast and easy version of what grandma used to make.
I start with these three ingredients:
There is usually a can of peas in the mix, but we are out and my kid really wanted this. She didn’t care that it is missing the peas. It turned out fine!
You will also need these additional ingredients
Boil up the pasta. It can be any kind. This is the only kind of plain pasta I had.
It looks like little pig ears when its done, right?
After the pasta is done, drain it and put it back in the pot.
Add the butter and one can of Cream of Mushroom soup.
Put the burner on low and give it a stir, then add in a little bit of milk, just a smidge.
Then add in one can of tuna:
Gently stir it up.
Then add a bunch of salt and pepper. It really needs this because it is the only seasoning you add.
It turns out creamy and glossy:
I added some tomatoes on the side because I have to have a veggie with every meal. Add even more salt and pepper to taste. This is great with pepper. A must!
This is not the most diet friendly, but it is def the most budget friendly meal you can make!
Enjoy!
I love tuna casserole! My recipe I is very similar to yours. I usually use noodles when I make it.
Sounds very similar to the tuna casserole I have made forever…but mine has shredded cheese and green onions (no peas) which give it a good flavor.
Green onions sounds good!!
My mom used to make that; she cooked it in a casserole dish with bread crumbs on top.
I wish I had the patience to make it the right way!
