Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) Day One

Hello!

I know I’ve been SO boring lately that I decided Sunday to drag my kid to the museum in L.A,

It was a gorgeous day and I just needed my art fix!

It only takes about 40 minutes to get there and I have been dying to go.  So off we went!

Welcome to Hollywood!

I love the old buildings.

And the tree lined streets.

It was really easy to get here!

Checkout the first installation I saw!

Can you imagine this all lit up at night?

photo25

I loved just walking thru these old lampposts.

photo24

Great idea!

photo23

Its like they are all alive!  I think these are actual streetlights taken from old LA.

Then we went in.  It took my kid awhile to get me out of the lampposts!

I am adding the plaques for you to read.

There were only a few that I had to have to read later and I thought I would share!

And only this would be part of a private collection!  Not really most of these are private on loan!

I fell in love with these cherubs and totally blew off getting the artist info!

That man is made of all matchsticks and then a light shines behind him for the shadow on the wall!

Amazing!

Tomorrow I will share the Diane Von Furstenberg Wrap Dress Exhibit!  It is so cool.  How many do you own?  I have two or three!

There was so much more to see so I might make this a 3 day event.  This museum is right next to the La Brea Tar pits so I finally got to see that as well!

So day two tomorrow!

  1. Love it all. The street lights make me think of the candelabra in Beauty and the Beast. I think the street lights should come to life and sing and dance:)
