Tears In Heaven

Grandma’s funeral was today.  It was lovely.  On the handout at the service were these words from Eric Clapton’s song that he wrote at the loss of her boy.

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on
‘Cause I know I don’t belong here in heaven
Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven?
I’ll find my way through night and day
‘Cause I know I just can’t stay here in heaven
Time can bring you down, time can bend your knees
Time can break your heart, have you begging please, begging please
Beyond the door there’s peace I’m sure
And I know there’ll be no more tears in heaven
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on
‘Cause I know I don’t belong here in heaven

It was a lovely service.  She will be missed.

    • Thank you Bridget and I am sorry for your loss as well. Our family is so important to who we are. We will carry them close to our hearts always! Hugs!

      • Hugs to you as well. I have my grandfather’s beloved feline – a furry, snuggly reminder of how much I was loved.

        • That is great Bridget! My mom is 92 and she has 3 cats. If I lived in the same state, I would take one. She actually wants to be buried with her oldest cat, he is pretty old and sick. I am not sure how that will work out.. but she is planning a Green Funeral. Have you ever heard of that? It is very interesting and only certain grave yards are
“green” and it is all very cool. Leave it to my hippy mom! 😉 I sure hope that doesn’t happen for years and years! I am so happy you have that fur baby!
