Catching My Breath

It’s gonna be a warm week!

Which is okay if I hit the trail early enough to get in a little exercise before it gets hot.

It was so pretty this morning!

I remind myself when I am out there that this is the best FREE exercise I can get.

Speaking of FREE, I checked in to a Weight Watchers meeting this Sunday.

It seems so long since I have been.  I was at Ojai one weekend, painting the other, and forgot once!  I have to go at least once a month to keep that FREE lifetime status. I was up One Whole Pound!  I think painting helped.  I am still sore.

Oh and check this out. I told you about the painting I am getting when a friend retires!  Here it is:

Isn’t it pretty!  I love it!

I cannot wait to get that hung up.  I think in my bedroom which I need to get back in order,  that will be the easy part compared to the rest of the things I want to do eventually.

There’s still a few things that need to be done:

  • Touch up Ceiling in Bathroom
  • Paint Trim and Chair Rail
  • Install some kind of Towel Rack
  • Paint Hallway
  • Paint Vents and Metal Art Piece
  • Crown molding
  • Paint my closet at some time and fix the canister lights in there.
  • Replace bathtub and tile and faucets/showerhead
  • Replace windows and sliders
  • New interior doors
  • New heating and air conditioning unit

Whoops, I got carried away thinking of all the things that need to be done.

Believe me, some of those things won’t get done for YEARS.  If ever by me!

I have so much coming down the pike.  My kid reminded me last night that she will be driving soon so I need to start saving for a car!  I reminded her that she will be old enough to start working soon~!  😉

Money Money Money!!!

See you tomorrow!

  1. Ha. Great friendly reminder reply, for sure. That’s a long to-do list. Hope the weather cools off… for both of us! We’re deep in the 90’s and will be for a while. Yuck.

There are gyms that cost $90 a month that have treadmills with screens on them; the screens show pictures of places like California. So people pay $1,000 a year, or more, to walk one treadmill that shows them pictures of the outdoors, so that they can pretend to be walking where you walk for free.

As for cars: while saving up for a decent used car, my mom drove a 17-year-old Honda. She was fifty and driving around SoCal in a perfectly functional, $2,000 car. And I drove my Volvo 240 into the ground. Do you have any idea what it is like to be thirty years old and driving a car that, if it were a human, would almost be of legal drinking age? (I used to joke that the car was almost old enough for ethanol gasoline, and could be taken to R-rated movies in the drive-ins.) My current vehicle is a 2000 Volvo V70 SE – gorgeous, gently used, but old.

    • Its true Right? Most people would die to live in So. Cal.. There are a lot of us that really take advantage of it, but then there are those that go to the gyms too. silly!
