What’s Up?

What’s up with me and what’s up with you?  How are you doing?  Are you staying above water?  Are you on task, on goal and feeling accomplished?

I don’t think I am.  I think I am more or less just putting one foot in front of the other and getting by.

This has been a strange year for me.

It’s my hope that next year will be easier emotionally.  I hope that I will be able to relax into the next 4 years. But really, I don’t think it will be relaxing.

I have an elderly mom, a teenage daughter and I am a single mom with a full time job.  The word relax just isn’t in my vocab!

So what’s a girl to do?  (Can I still call myself “girl”)?

OMG, I still want to be able to call myself a “girl” but at 53, is that silly?  I still feel much like the same old me, only a bit more tired.

Well, in order to make it on a daily basis I keep myself busy with work,  my blog and weird stuff around the house.

Like putting up a Christmas Tree, two weeks before Thanksgiving!  Okay, that is weird.  But hey, whatev.

See the box that I put the tree on?

I plan on wrapping that with some gift wrap.  I think it will look cute.  I bought this wrapping paper:

I will probably do that tonight.

I have a few other little projects to do as well.

Like these leftover Fall  pumpkins.

I plan to paint them white and add some bling.

And this branch:

I plan to paint that white and add some sparkle!

And this Eifel tower:

I don’t plan on doing anything with it.  😉  I just had to have it.

As you can see, I just keep busy doing little inexpensive things.

I like having little projects to look forward too.

Oh I still have my home made Christmas gifts to finish!

So that’s what I’m up to.  A lot of little things.

What are you up to girl?  Or… boy!

😉

  1. This girl is barely upon water these days! My employer is filing bankruptcy and told me today that I needed to start looking for a job – despite telling me repeatedly that all was well. So…STRESS! I really home 2014 is better. I can’t handle a repeat of 2013!! (Love that white tree!)

  2. First time commenter here! I ehjoy reading your blog and am in a similar debt situation that seems to be taking a depressingly loooooong time to pay off! I found this cheap Christmas craft and really have enjoyed it. I thought you might like it if you decorate your cubicle for Christmas! If the link won’t work google “3d paper snowflake”. I made mine with cardstock that I had laying around from an old project. I taped each “circle” and then stapled the 6 arms together to form the snowflake. I added a light coating of glittery spray paint and hung them with fishing line. So prerry! http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-3D-Paper-Snowflake

  3. Angella I cant believe that bad news, keep us posted!
